Film : Oceans of Opportunity: A Change of Tide

SSI members and partners were recently featured in a film series by The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) titled Oceans of Opportunity: A Change of Tide, developed in partnership with Content With Purpose (CWP). SSI’s film is about the marine industry’s role in building a sustainable future for the oceans, circularity of materials, valuing the role of people and the importance of biodiversity.

Oceans of Opportunity: A Change of Tide is an expansive digital series which dives into the vital work of marine professionals and highlights how their knowledge, skills, and innovations are advancing the blue economy while safeguarding the ocean and its precious ecosystems.

SSI’s contribution to this programme includes interviews with SSI members Jessica Doyle, Jotun, Robert Haggquist, South32, and academic partner Prof. Ashley Hall, Royal College of Art, alongside Andrew Stephens, SSI’s CEO, who provide different views on sustainability challenges and opportunities in the shipping industry.
