Marine Biodiversity & Ocean Health Breakthrough for International Shipping

The Marine Biodiversity and Ocean Health (MBOH) Breakthrough for International shipping is a near-term goal to reduce the impact of international shipping on marine biodiversity by 30% by 2030, which provides a direction of travel for real-economy actors, civil society, and policy makers to drive action for system transformation.

The MBOH Breakthrough Initiative

The SSI hosts an initiative to accelerate and support the maritime sector’s work towards the MBOH Breakthrough goal at a global scale.

Advised by the United Nations Foundation, Climate Champions Team, and Ambition Loop, the MBOH Breakthrough Initiative convenes regular engagements and participates in global policy frameworks like the UNFCCC and CBD to encourage cross-sectoral collaboration in support of the climate, oceans, and communities.
